Creating my own spring....
I just heard the weather forecast....Winter storm watch. 5-8 inches of snow expected. What to do....I can go back to bed and eat comfort food til I burst or I can create my own spring in my house by putting together a flowering bulb mantel....This picture is from Martha Stewart.com. She suggests pansies, crocus, Hyacinth. We will see, that left over Easter candy is calling me...

I saw that too on Marth's site - then I thought "Well, you have a hard time keeping green plants alive.." so I decided NOT to do it - couldn't take the rejection from a PLANT!
Lucky for me, we left the Easter candy in Denver, but toast with Orange Marmalade is my comfort food today - we're due for more snow as well.
Have a warm day and feel good, OK?

So, how's it going with the decorating and the Easter candy? Pretty picture, love the baskets filled with bulbs!

In Sioux Falls, SD we are supposed to get 4-8 inches tonight and tomorrow, I feel your pain. Haven't gotten rid of the snow in the back yard yet. They say El Nino is responsible. I really can't wait for spring.

My candy is calling me while reading this and it is the candy you gave me. I need to eat it before my DH decides he needs to. :)
I hope you will share a photo of your own spring mantel? I would love to see it.
I have your box put together and hope to get to the post office tomorrow. I am getting lots of packages together to send at once.
Hope you don't get too much snow but it is a great excuse to drink some hot chocolate.....
Hugs ~

Martha has such a way with colour and texture and it's a brilliant idea to bring spring indoors. I bought some white tulips last week and it was so refreshing just to look at them -- white tulips vs. mounds of white snow..no contest!
Love the grouping of plates!! I can't wait to see what you do!!
I LOVE that picture! The lavender colored wall and the white plates...
I also love Easter candy ;-)

Love your blog. More snow! We had so much snow this winter, it's melting very very slowly!
Thanks for the picture. It is sooo spring! I just have to know: How do you get your blog to fill out the whole page like that? The pictures are so large. I love it. You can reply to bfdgirl@yahoo.com Thanks, Peggy
What a great idea. Love those lilac walls. Hope your snow leaves soon.
