Princess Diana

It is amazing that ten years have gone by since this beautiful lady died..As a young bride myself I remember getting up in the wee hours of the morning to watch her wedding...I followed her life through the years and was so stunned when I heard on the news of her death. I know it seems silly but there was something about her I connected with, was it her age? her shyness? I don't know...to this day my husband still makes fun of me. He doesn't read my blog so I don't have to worry about it...Did you feel the same?

a Productive Saturday...

wow. I got a bunch done today! I got up this morning and started in on painting the living room. I am switching over to a brown and blue color scheme. I used to have khaki green walls, now I painted them to match the new area rug I just purchased. I looks a lot bluer in the picture! I bought this nifty little painting bucket at Lowe's...it is for doing your trim work....it has a handle on the side to hold on to and it has a magnet inside to hold your paint brush to the side...I loved it. No more bending up and down dipping your brush in the paint bucket, you just carry this around! When I finished up with my living room I cut the grass and did the laundry. Now I think I will go out to the garage and work on getting the new tote and little stool I purchased the other day cleaned up and varnished...I am on a roll! I think it has something to do with the weather...it is 75 degrees and sunny and no humidity!

p.s.

duh. I forgot to post this picture on my last post...anyways, it is of the framed flash card I purchased at the Mustard Moon sale! I think it looks cute in my little cupboard in the bathroom...

Junking with Addi

Yesterday Addi and I (we are better known as Addi Gail) met up with a friend and we went to a once a month sale at Mustard Moon in Carver Mn. I love this sale! the line was long when we arrived, but as usual the owner Jane Hall did not disappoint...she is amazing! great prices, fun displays and if you don't walk away with anything, you at least came away with some new inspiring ideas! Addison loved all the excitement and attention she received at the sale! Jane tried so hard to get her to come to her but Addison has been very clingy to me lately(I call her wood tick). It was great to see Jane and some of my dealer friends from the Buffalo Nickel...I miss that the most. I bought a cute pine tote and a framed flash card that says beautiful which is now in my bathroom. I can't wait until her fall sale next month, it should be beautiful! Have a great weekend...I will be busy painting my living room.

What the?

It is August 21st??? right? look at the view out my front door! leaves! all brown and yellow and orange! what the? we have had a drought all summer and I think that is why the leaves have changed so early and fallen...I wonder what kind of a fall it will be? It finally started raining here four days ago and hasn't stopped...many people in southern Minn flooded out, lost lives and homes...our prayers go out to them.

I'm tired....

After a week of being sick I was happy to see Friday arrive...It was the day I was planning to take off and go antiquing to Oronoco MN for the huge flea market. I woke up at four am and hit the ground running, got down to Oronco by sunrise to meet a friend and everyone was set up. If you haven't been to Oronoco I will fill you in....Every August this little town ( I don't think it has over 5oo residents) basically closes down and hosts a flea market to hundreds of dealers. It is held all over town in alleys, yards, streets, fields..I would not miss it! but it is tiring! so today I am resting...above is one of three windows I purchased for ten dollars a piece! love the arch! I quickly put it on my mantle when I got home...more photos to come!

happy mail! happy mail

I was so happy when I received this sweet package in the mail this week! Heather at Present Past had her grand opening of her new website and I ordered this pink t shirt with a bird on the front. It was wrapped in scented pink tissue and a beautiful green ribbon! she sent a tiny bag of white buttons also!! she didn't forget one small detail...loved it! I wish I would receive mail like this every day! what a treat...

to market we will go...

Yesterday my friend and I went to the Minneapolis gift market, Here are a few pictures of some of the things we saw...wow. that is blue!
This is a fun showroom with lots of antique pieces used for display...
we found these great reproduction thermometers! Lynn ordered a lot! this will be my first Christmas in years that I will not be selling retail...so this market was kind of bittersweet. I miss this time of year and all the fun buying but then again it could be very stressful trying to decide what to purchase and will they buy it! It was fun to look. We had our usual two hour lunch at our favorite spot....It was a good day!

get any good purses lately?

That is what I am asked quite often...I have been called the queen of purses...my friends envy me...for some reason when I am out junking they gravitate towards me...I can get skunked at a dozen sales, not a antique in sight but I always find a purse! not just any purse, specifically Kate Spade purses...the one pictured here is a knock off. But I have gotten so many compliments on it this summer I hate to retire it...it is getting dirty. Oh well,I figure if I can't find antiques at least my day was made by finding a cute purse..

Addison's first jeep ride!

Addison had her first Barbie Jeep ride yesterday....her big sister Karissa was happy to take her on her first ride(but got a little tired of her passenger after awhile)...Addison loves it! I would of loved to have one of this when I was little...
