Love those totes!
Totes...gotta have at least one. Pictured on the left is the before of a tote I bought at a flea market. On the far left is the after picture.. all refinished and full of bitter sweet on top of a quilt on my harvest table! I can't believe all of the totes I have sold...since starting this business in 1892! (well, not really it just feels like it) It has always been my best seller! and of course coming in a close second are benches!

I have several totes too! I used to just stack them on my porch at my hold farmhouse. When we moved into my current house, they just didn't seem to work on the porch. They are sitting waiting for me to do something with them.....:-)I am thinking about mosaics :-))))

Oh how beautiful! I just love it. I don't have one but I think I'll set about finding one. With all the upcoming barn sales maybe I'll come across a tote that needs a new home =) Blessings... Polly
So, do you just find these at various places? Love it but have never run accross any in this part of the country. It looks great on you table. Come to think of it, my Dad used to use one similar to carry his carpentry tools. Wish I still had it!
Have a great week - :-)
I have never heard of these being called totes. Is there a history to why it is called that or just the practical side of its function? I can't believe how pretty this one came up and love how you have displayed it! The color on yours walls is beautiful too. I am a fan of dark woods as you can see by the photos on my home and garden blog. The cupboard in the corner is so pretty a color.

Love all your pictures of your beautiful home. The wooden rocking horse on top of the hutch is absolutely fantastic - I love wooden horses and we have an old wooden carosel horse in our foyer that we got at Auction years ago.
I just found out about your idea for "Paying It Forward" on blog spots. I don't have a blog spot, but wanted to tell you what a wonderful idea you have. I love reading the comments on Utah Grammie's site and now will be able to read your blog, as well. Keep up the fun remarks...humor makes my day! Betty
