just thinking...

I hope some of you are experiencing the beautiful crisp cool air we have been having in Minn. the last couple days...I love it! I feel rejuvenated when the weather shifts like this! can you tell I dislike hot humid weather? Addi and I have been swinging a lot lately out on the big wooden swing in the back yard. I have been thinking about what I am going to do after she isn't staying with me any longer...I miss my antique dealer days, I mostly miss doing the displays (picture of last Christmas above). I need to use my creative energy again, but probably not in this form. I really got tired of constantly trying to find merchandise at estates sales and the heavy competition of the other dealers at these sales...I am sure if you go to estate sales you see it happening...it gets ugly! I have seen behavior in the last few years that saddens me. It made me lose my mojo! I need to reinvent myself...

good mail...

I received the sweetest card today filled with hollyhock seeds from Deena at Nestled in the Singing Woods...I have never had any luck with Hollyhocks, but still they are my favorite flower! Deena talked me into giving it another try with her seeds. I will plant them in the fall and hopefully next summer I will see some sprouts...Thank you Deena, that was so kind!

that time of the week already?

Is it really Friday? I thought it was Tuesday... with the holiday being on a Wed. this week I am a little off. Ok, so it is inspiration Friday...I want to redo my office and I love this look. Right now my office is light yellow walls, black toile accents and white furniture...I am thinking I will go all white, and do a punch of color like this...but maybe not red, I saw pink boxes at Ikea..I have bought shelving like this at Ikea before so that will be easy, now to find a long table for a desk! have to keep my eyes open for one....Hope everyone has a good weekend! Be safe....

I was reading Allison's blog "My Cozy Home" and she said that she has a good blogging friend who wanted bloggers to share pictures of their bedrooms...Here is our bed, my husband made the headboard quite a few years ago...He made it from an old door and then added molding around it. He did a great job! and I have a fireplace mantle at the foot of our bed....which I have also used at one time as a head board. I am thinking of changing the wall color, right now is kind of a khaki color and I would love to change it to a pretty greenish blue...Allison at my cozy home has posted her bedroom and it is in that beautiful blue color. Check it out!

the end of a great weekend...

Oh well here it is the end of a really fun weekend....we took my husband's sister and her three kids to the lake house for three days...the weather was gorgeous! we spent most of the time on the boat. Our nephew Logan was so excited to catch some fish, here he is smiling...he lost his two front teeth last week..soooooooooo cute! and the picture below is of his Mom and his big sister having fun on the boat! My husband and his sister and I have always been really close....we would do anything for her! She became suddenly single this year and it has been rough on everyone. This weekend was just what they needed! Love you guys! can't wait to go to the lake again with you!
