A beautiful fall day...
Addison and I had a beautiful fall day together! First we went and saw great grandma and she gave Addi a ride on her walker! they both loved it! Isn't my Mom the cutest? 88 years old and she looks great!and then we went home and spent some time in the leaves...Addi is walking now so she loved walking through the leaves over and over again! ( with a little help from her uncle!)

Designing women part 2
yummy new recipe...
Here is a great recipe I received from a friend... Hollow out a smallish pumpkin like the one in the picture..take 2 cups of apples, 2 cups of raisins, 2cups Pecans, 1T. lemon juice, 1cup sugar, 1/4tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Toss it all together and put in hollow pumpkin...Bake 1 hour 15 min@ 350 degrees. Serve on a Ritz cracker and cream cheese. Yum. And it makes your house smell wonderful while cooking.

a day of designing...
Nothing like a day of designing to help get the mo jo back...I was asked by my friend Donna the owner of the Buffalo Nickel to help decorate her store a couple days this week. So, I jumped at the chance and my sweet husband took off the day to be with Addi...(he is the best!). We had a great time and it was fun to use my creative juices again! Here are some before and after pictures of the day! Merry Christmas!!! (it made me want to come home and get out the decorations!) I can't forget to thank Teresa over at Garden Antiques for nominating me for the "you make me smile" award! It made my day! the blogging blues have lifted...thanks to everyone else who left such kind and supportive comments! we are great friends!

Rain Rain go away...
It has been raining or cloudy for most of October! yuk. my favorite time of the year! The leaves are almost gone...I just realized, it has been a week since my last post...I feel the blog blues. I read the other day on a blog how this person (can't remember who it was...sorry.) was feeling the same way I am and she said she was thinking of throwing in the blogging towel...Ever feel that way? I just feel like I have nothing interesting to say lately...any one else ever go thru this? The pictures I have posted today are of my great niece holding onto her Mommy's belly. Mom was nine months pregnant and soon after gave birth to little Addison! I can't believe a year has gone by since this picture was taken...

funeral for a friend...
I just got home from a funeral...It was for a very special lady. Her name was Esther. Esther is the mother of a good friend of mine. My friend owns the antique market where I used to be a dealer. Esther used to work behind the counter, she would make and then sell her baked goods. She did this until she was 79...We will all miss her! she was like a mother to us all!

On the far left is the after picture.. all refinished and full of bitter sweet on top of a quilt on my harvest table! I can't believe all of the totes I have sold...since starting this business in 1892! (well, not really it just feels like it) It has always been my best seller! and of course coming in a close second are benches!

one room done...what next?
I finally finished my living room...yeah! It's a good feeling to have that done. The picture on the far left is the living room before ( I made the curtains in a green ticking stripe and the walls were also green.) Now here it is in a blue/green...I made the curtain panels and they are a brown tweed. (close up picture down below...) Now it is on to the bedroom!

I've been tagged...
I have been tagged by Utah Grammie over at Main Street Memories! I am suppose to tell seven unknown things about myself...here goes. 1. I would only eat Wheaties and ice cream growing up..no, not mixed together. 2. My nieces and nephews call me Gailie...and only my husband and my Dad call me Gailzie. 3. I am the youngest of six siblings. 4. I became at aunt for the first time when I was one year old! 5. I hate to fly! my sister (who is a flight attendant) can not relate... 6.I was voted best dressed my senior year of high school..my biggest achievement! let's just say I was never school material! 7. I can tell you room for room what my grandma's house looked like in 1968(right down to the nick knacks). She died 25 years ago and moved out of that house to a nursing home when she was ninety two! I will never forget her and our daily visits with one another, her home was my refuge, I loved her... Well, that is a little bit about me, now what about you? please considered yourself tagged! take care,Gail
