August. It gently crept up on me...the grass is looking tired. the gardens too. and then I walk out my back door and find this! a beautiful big red Hibiscus flower! they are as big as dinner plates! beautiful...I love the little surprises that each new month brings.

If you are ever looking for a cascading plant that is easy to grow in any light...get POTATO VINE.. it is so easy and look how crazy mine is growing in my urns and boxes! love this stuff.

The North Shore...

We are back from our vacation to the north shore....our favorite place in Minnesota! It was very hot! so we hit the beach! the water was clear but c.o.l.d....refreshing! We put on many miles walking the board walk and of course eating waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much. good times with our nephews...Here are some pictures of our time away...

A Quiet weekend...

We are having a nice quiet weekend...so relaxing. Took a drive to get some ice cream and went by the old one room school house just outside our town. My Dad went to school there thru the eighth grade...such a pretty setting. So glad this little piece of history was preserved! I Hope your weekend is going well....

that is the question...

To paint or not to paint? It is 92 degrees today...so I decided to drag my Adirondack chairs out of the garden and paint them! I scraped and sweat ed and scraped some more...and than I thought maybe I should just leave these wonderful SHABBY CHIC chairs alone...Would they look better all freshly painted? or shabby?
